It prevent written text from being selected by cursor (on first click). You need to click to search bar first to bring focus in and then you have to click again and select text. TLDR: It ignores first click, and you can select text after you click to bar one more time. I tried this issue with Google and Wiki engines under new profile.

NOTE: It works for a brief moment until suggestions appear.

I can reproduce this on Firefox 34.0 on both Ubuntu 14.04 and 14.10. Two example triggers: 1. Focus the search box with a click at the end of the previous search term, hit Ctrl+V to paste (suggestions will then appear), then attempt to select the previous search term (for instance, in order to delete it). 2. Middle click to paste selection (Linux feature) and then attempt to select the previous search term. Current behaviour: Selection always fails on first attempt as if I'm dragging my mouse across something that isn't selectable text. Have to reattempt the process in order to select the text with the mouse. Expected behaviour: Text is selected.

I can reproduce this with Firefox 35.0 on Arch Linux. However, it only occurs when I've recently cleaned my firefox profile (using a brand new profile). If I'm using a profile that has already been used before, this isn't an issue.

I´m no longer experiencing this issue on Nightly 38. HOwever it´s been quite a while since I tried if this issues still persists.
