When we try to save some page as pdf by doing 'Print' and then 'Print to file', it doesn't work as desired. It saves the pdf at weird locations and often just names as 'mozilla.pdf' even though I try to rename it. Overall the printing to a pdf experience isn't good. This should be improved.

We have something like a thousand open printing bugs in the various bugzilla printing compontents, so yeah, that's fair. Probably any other issues you were thinking about are covered though. If you have any other issues and you can't find an existing bug, feel free to file new issues. I'm going to mark this as a dup of bug 155992 so that it's treated as another vote to fix that bug.
