The Nightly updater does not seem to delete the apk file after updating Nightly. So this does not affect the Play Store version of Firefox. I currently have two files in my "Download" folder, ~32MB each (visible via USB, not the Download app): - fennec-31.0a1.multi.android-arm.apk - fennec-32.0a1.multi.android-arm.apk I have already deleted files like those previously. I am using a Nexus 4 running Android 4.4.2

The updater doesn't use that directory, are you sure those aren't just the initial Nightly download APK's you downloaded off of http://nightly.mozilla.org?
