This is an experimental idea to make adding a new tab on tablet even more convenient. When horizontal tab strip has white space(fewer than 4 to 5 tabs open), it would be nice to take advantage of that area and make it interactive.
The user can long press on the empty space of tab strip to trigger a new tab that is displayed in press-down state. Once long press is released, the tab turns to a new foreground tab.
The user can also drag the tab up or down if he/she wants to cancel adding a new tab.

Notice when touch is released, “Plus” icon rotates and turns to a “Close” icon.
Next step:
* Prototype + Animation refinement
* Implementation
