Simon, do you remember any details about the message, or which newsgroup it was in? I took a brief look at this tonight with trunk OS X build 2001-09-25-20, using netscape.public.macosx, but didn't crash (I admit, brief session).

Yeah, I went back and could not repro this, but I did see that exact stack twice. It may have been the first time I'd opened a news server on a migrated profile or something.

Marking worksforme. Definitely will open this again when/if we see it.

I still don't see this on the trunk OS X builds. Will re-file when we see it.
