Bug 102170 had a more descriptive description, so I'm adding it here:
I would like to store [meta-]bookmark to all tabbrowsers in actual browser
windows. This bookmark remembers URLs and tabbrowsers order (including focused
tabbrowser). When you select this bookmark, it opens new browser window with all
tabbrowsers in remembered order.
For example - users working with Bugzilla could have several tabbrowsers with
different buglists (My Bugs, Bugs today added, etc...). They could simply
bookmark it and open it fast every time they need work with Bugzilla.

See also bug 33328, which is a similar rfe but not limited to tabbed browser
mode.

Another way to implement this functionality would be to save URLs for all open
tabs to individual bookmarks in a new bookmark folder. Then there could be a way
(perhaps an option on right-click menu or [shift]/[alt]/[ctrl]-left-click on
bookmark folder) to open all bookmarks in a folder into separate tabs.
This would satisfy the conditions of the enhancement request, as the folder
would act as a single 'bookmark item' for saving and restoring multiple tabs. It
would also permit users to open a single URL from the "snapshot" and to open all
of the URLs in any bookmark folder, not only those saved as "snapshots".

Oops, I think bug 41171 is the real non-tabbed-browser equivalent to this bug.

I'd like to see the ability to save the existing set of tabs so that they would
be loaded at next startup, rather than (or in addition to) being saved as a
bookmark. Perhaps adding a pref to the Tabbed browsing prefs to save open tabs
when closing. Would that be the same as this bug, or should that be another RFE?
I'm not all that concerned about loading a set of specific URLs into tabs from a
bookmark, but I would want to be able to open the browser and have all the same
URLs loaded into the same tabs as when I closed it.

Stupid question:
Can XML/Xlink be (mis-)used for this task ?

spam: set your filter for "SeverusSnape" to avoid the influx of bugmail
changing QA contact of open tabbed browser bugs from blake to me. if this bug
requires a reassignment, however, feel free to change it!

maybe consult HJ from http://Multizilla.mozdev.org as he can probably add
helpful info on the implementation as this feature is also on his list.

I am using a page with Bugzilla's most common quick links to bugzilla stuff,
queries and other stuff.. I have it in a directory that I update the file as
well with composer and its in my personal toolbar folder.

much like a history outliner list.. or how about a context item where you
right-click select 'open folder bookmarks in new window with tabs'

I actually like comment #7 (bajac@akula.com) that says they should be saved as
an individual folder in the Bookmarks folder and be opened with a context menu.
This would also allow you to be able open other folders of bookmarks in tabs.
I also think that comment #14 (Tim Wunder) is a good idea, though would probably
be better off in a separate bug.

I also like the idea from comment #7.. I think this maybe the best approach yet.

For what it's worth, I believe galeon supports something akin to #14, and that's
actually why I'm here.. this would be *really* useful functionality.
Specifically, so lazy folks don't have to scroll back:
implement some way to load a set of tabs at startup.

I like the suggestion in bug 127637 which was duped to this bug but seems like a
different RFE. I simply want the browser to open with the tabs I had open, not
as bookmarks but particularly if the browser crashed to avoid the hassle of
reopening all the windows I had open.
Not sure how a user would be taught that their tabs were being saved as a
bookmark(s), as suggested in this bug.

Comment #14 (save tabs for next startup) should be a different bug (which
depends on this one?).
The danger with comment #7 (group by BM folder) is if a user right-clicks on a
BM folder that has *many* bookmarks in it, then he is suddenly confronted with a
bazillion (or more!! ;) ) tabs (or windows, depending on preferences settings?)
being opened - Not a good thing.
We probably need a *new type of bookmark* called "Bookmark Group", similar to a
"Mailing List" in the address book. Also, the tab's URLs, order, and foreground
tab should be remembered.
BTW. I think we should think long and hard if this Bookmark Grouping should
apply to tabs *and* open windows, depending on the preferences settings under
"Tabbed Browsing". If it's easy - fine; but if not, we shouldn't delay the
tabbed side of it - it's just too nice a feature. :)
