For various reasons, there might be some usefulness in having Mozilla run applications that are on the local disk. Then again, there might be serious security problems. This is the bug to discuss that. I filed this bug because of bug 48165, where a file URL to an application in MacOS was misbehaving. Some people have said the ideal behavior would be to launch the application. I think a warning before launching would be idea.

This is on our feature list, the plan is to throw up a warning dialog letting the user know that bad things might happen.
Target Milestone: --- → mozilla1.0
->mozilla0.9.9 (but covered by a MachV feature, so really a dup of some other bug)
Target Milestone: mozilla1.0 → mozilla0.9.9
