This is probably a cross-platform bug. In the html editor, when double-clicking a word, the word will fail to select if the caret is already positioned in the word and you double-click over top of it.

This occurs also within the browser on yesterday's Mac OS (although the editing caret is invisible). Adding self to CC: list, rather than writing up a separate browser bug.
