As found in Thunderbird 31.0 on Linux64, when I click "Write" to open a new email window, this window is always positioned in the top right corner of the screen. This window should be positioned centered or open at the position where the last new email window was positioned at last.

Lower right corner for me (but not a regression from 24)
There is a KDE setting for this ("Window Behavior" or similar), which overrides whatever Thunderbird is doing. It places any new window where it's "best" by default, depending on any other windows currently open (i.e., when you have other windows open it may show up at a different location). I've set mine to explicitly remember the previous location and size, which works fine.

Markus, did comment 2 help you?

The window now opens top left, which feels much more natural than top right. Don't know when and what it changed, it's not really a problem for me anymore. Actually I've forgotten about this bug report and am surprised it's still open. So if nobody else has a problem with this, I would say this report can be closed.
