Thunderbird 24.6.0 and Thunderbird 31.0b3 on Windows 8.1 64 bit In the compose window, the attachment reminder notification bar gets shown for "attachment" and dismissed when adding an 's' for the plural form. Most languages could be covered by testing for the start of the word.
I don't think that's reasonable in general, you get way to much false positives without using word boundaries.
