User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:0.9.4+) Gecko/20011008
BuildID: 2001100808
After editing as new an "unsent message" and sending, it does not
get removed from that folder
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Write mail, "Send Later"
2.Go to Unsent Mail, right click on it, edit as new, send
Actual Results: Mail gets sent but the original message is kept in the unsent
messages folder
Expected Results: Mail should be removed from that folder since it was already sent

I agree. Seems like most people wouldn't think to look for the original message
and will send the early draft.

still exists on 2001-12-14-06 build.

Would it be possible to return back to old NS 4.x - allow to edit
the mesasage just by opening it (i.e. open the message with editor
rather than with viewer)?

I agree with peterph. I love the way NS 4.x allowed you to start writing a mail,
then click on "Send later" and later, let's say the next day, just double-click
this mail in Unsent Messages and edit it. I don't see any sense in the way
Mozilla handles it now: Right-clicking and selecting "Edit as new" is not very
intuitive IMHO and I don't know why one should want to just view an unsent
message: Either you've already completed it - then you'd just use "Send Unsent
Messages" - or you want to edit it. In the rare cases where you actually want to
only view it, there should be no problem to see it in the editor, right? Of
course, when sending a message re-edited this way, it should be deleted from the
Unsent Messages folder on success.
Just in case you others are of a different opinion, I'd have to file a RFE for
that. Otherwise we should change this bug to fit the needs.

just double-click this mail in Unsent Messages to edit it or the way Mozilla
handles this now - Right-clicking an Editing i think that is a handling thats
possible, but it should work !!
This Function "Send later" and "Edit as New" is a major Function for ALL mobile
Laptop Users to write and Edit Emails and Send them if Online.
Build: 2002071408 don´t work - message is kept in the unsent Folder.

I believe that the real problem is that there is no "Modify Message" option. The
only place where we can see this function is the "edit draft" button that
appears in the message headers in the Draft folder. "Edit as New" is
self-explicit and gives the user the possibility to create a second message from
a first one, but because there is no "Edit Message" option seen, people think
that Edit as New has this purpose and since it doesn't, conclude that it is
buggy. I also agree that messages in ther unsent folder should be editable with
a simple double click, just like in NS4 or OE.
I think that this is mainly a UI issue since the function exists but is only
displayed when opening the Draft Messages.

I experience a different form of the problem.
Following is a copy of my TB Features Forum comment.
Unsent Messages works differently from Netscape Messenger.
I believe Messenger has it right.
If I edit an Unsent Message as an afterthought, TB keeps
both the older & the newer versions of the message.
This behavior might make sense in Drafts, where you have to open to send.
But, Unsent Messages is the Outbox, and meant for bulk Send.
I see no virtue in sending multiple versions of the same message.
