+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #864674 +++ User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.22 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/25.0.1364.172 Safari/537.22 Steps to reproduce: 1. put some video and music files in sdcard. 2. open Music/Video app, view the thumbnails. 3. close Music/Video app. change another SD card 4. restart Music/Video app to view the thumbnails. Actual results: see the previous thumbnails in the first eye, and disappered after storage scanning finished. Expected results: should not display the thumbnails which is not existed in sdcard.

Music and Video app need a prompt interface like scanning or loading at that moment, just like what showOverlay('scanning') did in the Gallery app.

Thanks for the heads up, Punam. I've just filed bug 1046995 today and one of the goals of that bug is to come up with a good solution to this issue in MediaDB. I do not think that the severity of the issue justifies the risk of trying to fix it in Spreadtrum's v1.4 release, and I would recommend that this bug be closed as a duplicate of bug 1046995, but I will leave that decision up to Spreadtrum in case they want to pursue a fix. It may be possible to fix this issue in the Video app by copying the approach used for gallery in bug 864674. Note, however, that that will probably not work for Music because the Music app works by querying the MediaDB rather than doing a one-time enumeration of db content the way Gallery and Video do.
