To reproduce:
Login into your IMAP mailaccount but *dont* set mozilla to remember the
password. Mozilla now downloads the headers for the INBOX. Now exit Mozilla.
Start Mozilla again and select the INBOX. When asked to enter password press
Cancel. Now drag and drop the messages from the INBOX to the Trash on Local
Folder. Just press Cancel whenever Mozilla asks for password. Now take a look
at your Trash on local folder. Some empty mails appear.
Expected: Cant drag mails from not logged into account.

This bug is a very low priority because no one would do such a thing.

actually, it's not quite so trivial if you take the process a step further
1. not logged in to imap
2. drag messages from imap folder to local
3. see empty message from local, and imap message is gone from index
[new info]
4. do get new messages and login to imap
5. you can see the imap message get deleted from the imap folder
actual results:
imap message is gone, lost, and local folder does not contain the message
Severity: trivial → critical

In Seamonkey at step 3 one sees the progress bar moving.
In thunderbird at step 3 one sees "downloading message..." in the status bar.
And at some point (I think it was attempting to drag a second message) I also go "The operation failed because an other operation is using the folder"...

nothing changes in source and destination folder, but destination folder can't be opened after the drop. restart is required.
