Details

From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:0.9.5+) Gecko/20011022 BuildID: 2001102203 When the sidebar is open and I click into the address bar (on top of existing text, not to the right) only the text up to the point where I click is highlighted. When the sidebar is hidden, all text is highlighted properly. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 0. Open sidebar. 1. Make sure address bar is not focused. 2. Click in address bar on top of existing text. 3. Note that it is partially highlighted. 4. Repeat steps 1-2 until seen (cannot reliably reproduce) Actual Results: Only the text up to the click point is highlighted. Expected Results: All text should be highlighted upon entry. Because it's so sporadic it may occur under other circumstances but I'd die of boredom before being able to report this bug.

->URL bar. I can't reproduce this with 10/22 win2K build.
This can also be reproduced when Mozilla is first opened. I click on the "z" in "http://www.mozilla.org" and it only highlights to the "z". This time, though, it occurred without the sidebar. Oh well, this is only trivial, right? :)
Just my (not so humble) opinion. When I click in the address bar, it's for a reason. I want to place my cursor in a particular place to make a particular edit. As of version 0.9.7 on Windows, the highlight behavior still seems somewhat random. Sometimes it highlights the entire url, usually (about 80-90% of the time) it highlights from the beginning to the click point. Ideally, I'd prefer it didn't highlight ANYTHING unless I drag across some of the text, or double click. I do not, and have never used the sidebar, so I doubt it's related to that. Am I, as a civilian and end user, allowed to change bugs to "confirmed"?
