It would be usefull to be able to manage the history of the time spend to fix a bug or to enhance a component. The way I see this feature is: - required time : this field is used to estimate the time to spend in order to fix a bug. - spent time : this field is updated each time more informations are added for a bug => total spent time : the sum of the spent times. A next step for this feature would be to include the dependency of a bug, then : - estimated required time : the sum of the required time of each bugs, on which the current bug depends. - estimated spent time : the sum of the spent time of each bugs on which the current bug depends.

Smells like micro-management to me. But over to the correct component. Gerv

The patch bugzilla_time.patch.r2.bz2 provides the following services: - estimated time - spend time - query - total for each query [new] - xml export The patch could be improved, but I am not a perl expert.

Bah, I hate it when this happens... Bug 24789 is the same thing as this. It also has a patch. I know the patch there has been updated recently, too (since the tree has had major changes since October). We obviously can't use both. I'm leaving the older bug with the more recent patch... if there's stuff this one does that the other one doesn't, now would be a real good time to work with the author of the other one to get the features merged. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 24789 ***
