(Whiteboard: [PR1])

Currently when you delete a message, the old message stays in the message pane and a new mesage isn't selected. The desired behavior would be to select a new message if there is one and to blank out the messgae pane if there isn't.
The part about the old message staying there is. The part about selecting a new message, which was the main reason for this bug, isn't.

This needs to be fixed for PR1, so I added a note to the Status Whiteboard
At least some people don't want this behaviour, so a preference might be called for. See: http://www.jcinteractive.com/nswishlist/messengerClient.shtml (point 7)
