Description from Ben: The menu reorg is basically a shuffling of existing menus around, with focus on the File menu and the Tasks menu. The UE group has several proposals at: http://www.mozilla.org/projects/ui/communicator/framework/menu_framework/menupro to_screenshots/a/nav/index.html http://www.mozilla.org/projects/ui/communicator/framework/menu_framework/menupro to_screenshots/b/nav/index.html http://www.mozilla.org/projects/ui/communicator/framework/menu_framework/menupro to_screenshots/c/nav/index.html UI discussions, if I recall them correctly, have favoured B, although I don't know that they've made any final decision yet. German was driving this, but since he's left, I would suspect that Marlon could now be handling it. He should be able to indicate which of the three options they wish to proceed with, and then it's just a matter of moving menus around in the various XUL files so that the implementation matches the design.

um, New>* should show key shortcuts for all items right? Foo...> should be Foo> [Bad: Save As...>] Personally, i like 3-Edit Show/Hide> is missing The sitenavigation toolbar [the bar whose name should be a single character -- too bad the Klingon language was rejected from Unicode, there's a nice Klingon Empire character in the proposal] I'd like: -- Show/Hide> Navigation Bar Personal Toolbar Site Navigation Bar Status Area Sidebar - Bookmarks Sidebar Links Sidebar Tinderbox Sidebar -- Where does Translate live in proposal 3? (it could live in Features) I'd prefer Add Bookmark In ... And does ^x mean Shift-X or Command-Shift-X? ... I like 3-Privacy and Tools better than 2. however 'Understanding Privacy' needs a new string. - With send page ... [2] why can't the send page address be an option in the dialog so you don't need "Send Link Only..." It should be Print... not Print. The only exception is notepad.exe, and that's because it doesn't ask any questions when you use it. Was any consideration given to combining Open File and Open Location? and what does 3 expect in Open File> ?
Isn't bug 108099 a dup of this one?
B looks alright, but the window menu ***needs*** to go. Tile/arrange? Jesus... who in gods name would look for that there... why are we making this into an MDI app, on all platforms, no less. The open window list was already a problem, please, let the window manager handle this stuff... it does it better then Mozilla ever will.
