It would me nice if I could setup an address book list, say "Newsletter", then anyone who sends me a subscribe email would automatically get added to the Newsletter list via a message filter.

With this feature and auto-response, this could also be a good way to stop spam: Filter #1: If sender is in my whitelist, send an automatic response that says "I'm sorry, I don't know you. If you are a real live human being, send your message back again but with KERSHNUGGLE in the subject line. The KERSHNUGGLE will let your message through and add you to my list of approved people." Filter #2: If the message contains KERSHNUGGLE, add the sender to my whitelist. If your magic word leaks out to spammers somehow, just change your magic word to something else.
