User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:32.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/32.0 Build ID: 20140923175406 Steps to reproduce: Type in a misspelling of a vulgar word (ie. sgit, sez, whpre). Actual results: Word suggestions appeared that were less similar than the profane word would've been. Expected results: Results for profane words should appear, at least after a setting has been toggled to allow profane words to show up in word suggestions. Perhaps even have a blacklist for words so that profane words can be added to. This way any other words that continually come up as unwanted suggestions for users can be outright disabled. For example, if a user didn't want the word "OK" to appear but wanted "Ok", a blacklist could facilitate this.
This is on spec. I don't like it either but hey. Let's see if UX changed its opinion about this.

I think we implemented this with Bug 803189, but I cannot find any UX spec on that bug. But I think not suggesting profane word seems like a reasonable behavior.
I would like profane suggestions tbh. Maybe not autocorrect them automatically but at least suggest them.
User dictionary could help this in some way. We may have it in 2.2 I guess.

I don't know how the suggestions work, but I guess there is a "score" system. Would it be possible to not hide profane words, but just give them a penalty instead? So that they'd still have a chance to be shown if there is a high probability the user wanted to show it?

We have them in the dictionary with score=0 already, so we can't give them more penalty.

Is "score=0" how those words are hidden? Then maybe we could make this score higher, but not as high as for other words?
