If user has his Tabbed Browser(under navigator) preferences set so that middle-clicking(or control-click) a link will open it in a new tab than this behavior should be carried over to the mailnews component. Instead, if you middle click on a browser-handled link in mailnews nothing happens. I am marking this as an enhancement only because the wording in the preferences dialog doesn't imply that mailnews is supported for this new feature, but I think it is the logical conclusion of a user that mouse interactions with a link would be handled uniformily throughout Mozilla and this should be fixed...
