This bug is to fix inconsistencies between apps when opening settings from within an app. All in-app settings menus should slide from bottom to top when opening and slide from top to bottom when closing. Consistency is key to perceived quality. Please fix

This is not a regression from 2.0. Also, this is fairly tricky to fix since some of the settings panels are displayed in-app (calendar, email) while others are activities into the settings app (sms). Changing the animation for activities is probably not feasible for 2.1, since it has repercussions on sheets and edge gestures. Also, which "settings" menu are you referring to in Browser? Is it the '...' icon? It appears to me that this does indeed transition up and down.

Given this isn't a new regression (does not meet our release blocking criteria) and we have bigger fish to fry to ship 2.1, I think its fair to improve this in the future release

Olof, thanks for letting us know your concerns, I will let Joe comment further on triaging / blocking against 2.1.

We will uplift depending on the risk but we don't hold the release for it.
