Actual results: Firefox loops into the future creating new tabs When killed firefox tried to open all the tabs (1003) again Expected results: should have opened image in browser (i.e. using browser as an image viewer)

It happens because Firefox doesn't handle TIFF format, so if you assign firefox.exe to TIFF (in Options/Applications), Firefox will call firefox.exe each time it tries to open it. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-repeatedly-opens-empty-tabs-or-windows
