When moving the cursor over a 'topic icon' (the images next to the headlines) on the Slashdot main page, the image disappears for a moment. Moving the mouse out of the image also makes the image disappear for a short while. These are supposed to be static images, without any mouseover/mouseout/mouse_whatever javascript attached to them. This seems to be something else. It is not related to any Javascript methods, and has nothing to do with onmouse<blahblah> methods. The attached file shows the problem: - IMG tag within anchor, ALIGN=right: image flickers - IMG tag within anchor, no ALIGN: image does not flicker So, it seems to be related (in some strange way) to the ALIGN parameter. Again, NO Javascript is involved here...

Please note, the flickering-image-bug occurs eratically. I just closed the browser session, restarted Mozilla and loaded my attachment, and it did NOT flicker this time. It seems to occur more frequently after Mozilla has been running/used for some time. The mere fact that the images do not flicker on the first attempt should not be seen as a negative proof of this bug report. #include <stddiscl.h>

On my system, I can reliably get the bug to occur in the attached file by: - opening the attached file - reloading the attached file with CTRL-R or the Reload button Once I reload the attached file, the image start to flicker on mouse{over|out}

Whoah, that's freaky (nice testcase, btw, Frank). It's as if the image is winking at me ;). Confirming 2001103103 on Win2k and marking NEW, but I have a hunch this is a dupe. -> All
