possible dupe of non-e10s bug 1067146?

(In reply to Achwaq Khalid from comment #2) Can you answer a few questions for me? * Can you confirm that you are talking about Flash video and not HTML5 video? I'm sure you know this (since you reported bug 1067558 - about audio playback without video) but HTML5 is set by setting media.mediasource.enabled to true. * If it was HTML5, can you check that it's not fixed in the latest nightly (by bug 1067558)? The issue in that bug usually manifested itself as halting only the video but I've also seen it halt audio as well and display a spinner. Also, would you double-check that it only happens for you in e10s mode? * If it was Flash-player, would you mind looking at bug 1067146 (a similar-sounding non-e10s flash player/YouTube bug) and telling me if that describes the situation you are reporting? Thanks!

Hi David! - Yupe I can confirm it's a flash video related issue since i have the flash plugin set to (Ask to play)and i had to activate it on that page - i checked on 2 other machine with only e10s disabled but with the same settings for firefox, the same addons! the issue couldn't be reproduced so it's safe to assume that this is an e10s bug - Funny thread on bug by the way (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1067146) =D i think i can relate to what strobe was describing in comment #18 One side note: the problem is only happening with YouTube videos. and trust me i watch a lot of videos online on various websites ;)

Thanks for the quick response! I guess this can't be easily explained away. I'll treat it as a new issue. FWIW, I don't seem to see this on mac. Thanks again, Achwaq.

I see this without e10s. With Windows 8, I am able to reliably reproduce this without e10s. STR: 1. Settings: media.mediasource.enabled = false (the default) media.windows-media-foundation.enabled = false (not the default) 2. Go to the link above: http://www.complex.com/sports/2014/10/russian-mma-fighter-kos-two-fighters-in-5-seconds?utm_campaign=complexmag+socialflow+10+2014&utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social 3. When it appears, press the play button on the video. It will display a spinner, forever.

The same behavior with those settings: media.mediasource.enabled = false media.windows-media-foundation.enabled = false on 2 different machines, one with e10s enabled the other disabled

Also see bug 1067146 - On YouTube and other video sites, the time bar stops moving when you skip through videos.
