Details

Bug 1041845 made us use "image-rendering: -moz-crisp-edges" in favicons. Quoting bug 1041845 comment 3: "ideally we'd using normal scaling in certain cases (when working with larger icons, or when downscaling from a big photo)" image-rendering:pixelated will take care of this -- using the normal scaling algorithm, when downscaling. (As of bug 1072703, at least.) Once that's available, we should probably switch to using "image-rendering: pixelated" instead of "-moz-crisp-edges" for favicons, for prettier downscaling behavior.
