User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.10; rv:33.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/33.0
Build ID: 20141023194920
Steps to reproduce:
I wish to open a given message from command-line but it is not possible under Mac OS X (10.9 and 10.10).
To do this, I call one of the following lines (while TB is already running and Thunderlink is installed from here: https://github.com/poohsen/thunderlink):
1$ /Applications/Thunderbird.app/Contents/MacOS/thunderbird -thunderlink thunderlink://messageid=53E0F4EF.8040702@gmail.com
2$ /Applications/Thunderbird.app/Contents/MacOS/thunderbird-bin -mail mailbox-message://53E0F4EF.8040702@gmail.com
3$ /Applications/Thunderbird.app/Contents/MacOS/thunderbird-bin -mail mailbox-message://53E0F4EF.8040702@gmail.com
4$ /Applications/Thunderbird.app/Contents/MacOS/thunderbird -console -message mailbox-message://53E0F4EF.8040702@gmail.com
5$ open /Applications/Thunderbird.app --args -thunderlink thunderlink://messageid=53E0F4EF.8040702@gmail.com
Actual results:
Thunderbird displays a message: "Thunderbird is already running..." ("Une copie de Thunderbird est déjà ouverte. Une seule copie de Thunderbird peut être ouverte à la fois.") for the 4 firsts commands.
Nothing happens with the 5th command.
More information can be found here: https://github.com/poohsen/thunderlink/issues/22#issuecomment-58939606
Expected results:
The message with the given ID should be opened and selected in the main window.
Thunderlink works well on other OS (Windows, Linux) but not on OS X.
According to the command line help, the "-message" should open the message with the given ID, but it does not happen.
Using terminal-notifier, we should be able to open from Notification Center the message corresponding to a given notification.

I think last week there was a similar problem but with composing a message from the Terminal. Symptoms are the same: trying to do anythong from the Terminal window would lead into an alert that one instance of TB is already running.
I think this one could be a duplicate of that.
