There is a nasty performance regression in Mercurial versions 3.0 through 3.1.1 that makes clone and pull time for large repositories much longer. This bug is fixed in Mercurial 3.1.2. We need to upgrade Mercurial in MozillaBuild to 3.1.2 so users aren't hit by this bad bag.

Callek may have gotten bit by this. We're talking minutes of extra latency when cloning a Firefox repository. RyanVM: when can you find time to cut a new MozillaBuild? What can I do to help?

I'm pretty backlogged from being out for the last week, but I can cut a 1.11 build pretty fast.

I'll try to get this done next week presumably once 3.2.2 is released.

Just a quick update: version 3.2.2 appears to be released, but the MSIs haven't been updated yet :(

Just to put this in perspective, it is a over a 14 times longer connection time. A 10 second hg pull request ends up taking between 15 and 30 minutes connection time.

I am using 3.2.2 under Linux now and it is much faster than the current Windows Mozilla Build version on hg clones and hg pulls. We really need to get this out.

I pinged the Mercurial people about the lack of 3.2.2 installers. They are planning a 3.2.3 release tomorrow or Friday. New installers should be created then. Hopefully RyanVM can package this all up on Monday.
