We left some room at the top left, but removed the area above the tabs completely. Developers tend to have many tabs open, so moving windows aeround via the mouse is difficult.

Other ideas:
There is always drag space on both the left and the right, but maybe we could make it more obvious by using a different grey compared to the grey of an unselected tab?

For the light theme, particularly on Windows, if we were to make the tab strip background the same color as the window border it would look a lot better, and also highlight extra drag space.

+1, that looks much better on Windows with the light theme.
