User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:33.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/33.0
Build ID: 20141105223254

Steps to reproduce:

1) Open TB and quickly click to red close button of the main TB window,
2) TaskManager still shows ThunderBird.exe task in system memory.

P.S: I have a slow computer (underclocked Phenom X6 and 8GB RWM/RAM with W7)
P.S.2:

> 2) TaskManager still shows ThunderBird.exe task in system memory - resident,
but without any machine time consumption.
Does it also happen if you have started Thunderbird in safe mode?

In safe mode will crash and sending debugging information. But the process of Thunderbird will not stay resident in system.

Crash I did not repeat. Thunderbird instead remain in the system.

(I think this one crash report was associated with Windows. Not with Thunderbird.)

The problem I manage to reproduce only in "power saving" mode Windows.

When my computer has set a power scheme "high performance", the error I can not reproduce.
P.S.:

If I disable all updates by e-mail at startup, Thunderbird works fine.

The problem occurs when I set Windows power save mode AND many updates e-mail. (I have 10 accounts of e-mail.)
How far is the Phenom X6 normally underlocked?
Does it also happen if the Phenom is only a tiny bit underlocked, eg 5%?

Summary: Task of my TB don't leave from memory. → Thunderbird hangs on shutdown when Windows power scheme is set to "power saving", i.e. is not "high performance", for underclocked Phenom X6

If I understand you correctly. Phenom was underclocked using power saving mode. CPU performance has been reduced to a minimum value of 2%. The maximum value was set at approximately 20% of the nominal power.
