After an update, Firefox Aurora became Firefox Aurora Developer Edition. Is this expected?

Yes, it is :) But I can't find a related bug, blog post, article, … at the moment, sorry.

Ok, thank you!
The only problem then is that when you start Firefox, it uses a different profile than the one I was using before.
Summary: Firefox Aurora got updated to Firefox Developer Edition → Firefox Aurora got updated to Firefox Developer Edition and doesn't use the default profile anymore

I've added a dependency for the bug that changed this behavior. This is expected and is likely wontfix. I've also cc'd Panos to help decide whether this is wontfix.

Marco: This is caused by the option "Allow Firefox Developer Edition and Firefox to run at the same time" in about:preferences#general. Unchecking this will let you use your old profile in FDE and in Fx at the same time.

Thank you!
I would expect this to be the default when updating from Aurora to Developer Edition.

What Tim said, or you can just use Sync to transfer your existing stuff from your old aurora profile to the new one.

Hello all,
Our team provides Mozilla with an updated visual test script for Aurora editions.
When translating the browser into IsiXhosa, we use an HTML guide with screenshots and instructions on how to reach each screen in English.
The guide is up to date up to FF Aurora 34, and we are continuing to update it to keep up with new releases. For this update, we are unable to download the FF Aurora 35 installer as only the Developer Edition is available as mentioned above.
Can you confirm if this is the correct version for testing, although we've translated FF Aurora 35?
Thanks,
Devon
