If you for a filetype chooses mozilla.exe as the application to use with the filetype mozilla.exe is started all over again. Not just a browser instance is started but an entire mozilla is started. This means that if you have multiple profiles and you open a file with the filetype the select profile dialog comes up. To reproduce: 1. go to http://entropymine.com/jason/testbed/mime/oct/file.png 2. you should get the "Downloading file.png" dialog 3. press "Choose" and find you mozilla.exe file and press Ok 4. press ok inthe "Downloading file.png" dialog 5. if you have multiple profiles the select profile dialog comes up meaning that it's not just a browser instance that started but a complete mozilla instance... build 20011116

I also get a new new browser process (I get the profile selection window) when I double-click on an HTML file in Windows Explorer. To reproduce: Open mozilla, select a profile Save a page as HTML Find where you saved it, double click on the file You get a new browser process.

Unable to reproduce with today's build. I think there was a period where we didn't properly detect that a profile had already been selected but that seems to be fixed, now.
