Reproducible on: Firefox 34.0 (build 2/ 20141125180439).
Affected platform(s): Windows 7 64-bit, Windows 8 32-bit, Ubuntu 12.04 LTS 32-bit and Mac OS X 10.9.5.
STR:
1. Open Firefox (window mode)
2. Enter Customize Mode and Move the search bar in the Menu Panel
2. Open the Menu Panel and enter any text in the search bar
3. While search suggestions are displayed, enter Customize Mode.
Expected Results:
The search results are closed and the Customize Mode is correctly opened.
Actual Results:
The search suggestions are moved under the Firefox Window.

Also reproducible on Firefox 33.1.1 - build ID: 20141113143407, so it's not blocking bug 1088660.

This is no longer relevant since you can no longer put the search bar in the three-bar menu. You can put it in the overflow toolbar but if you access customise mode, it goes away due to focus changes.
