Details

Rather than including a dark and light version for each. The ColorFilter makes a smaller APK and is more versatile. See the unlanded patches in bug 1020534 for one approach.
This is being done in the meta bug 1195512 (though the current list of bugs is not comprehensive). In particular, see bug 1171944.
