There's this annoying issue ever since I decided to upgrade from FF24 ot 32, and still present in central right now and it feels like it got more irritating.
As I type in the urlbar and the results update I get black flickering.
To be noticable you need to have many results searched and visible. I use this addon: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/locationbar-limit/versions/
With a fresh profile I have 150 results an 25 rows. and it's quite noticable. (Not as much as my default one). I also have near 150k history items.
I have an aging CPU with a Core2 e6750, and a GTS450 card.
I'm guessing with much faster systems it might be less noticeable.
I posted screencasts earlier to another bug, but that was apparently a different issue.

Disabling layers.offmainthreadcomposition.enabled works around the issue, but items appear slower.
Here's a recording of just how distracting and annoying can this issue be.

Tried changing layers.prefer-* settings. Didn't help, but it did get worse, particularly with opengl.
Also tried changing gfx.canvas.azure.backends, and gfx.content.azure.backends, but it only made things slower.

Bas, you think this is a duplicate of the other flickering issues?

It's certainly very possible, but very difficult to say for sure. The easiest way to test would be for the affected user to try a nightly from today or later.

Reporter, are you still experiencing this issue?
I don't even remember the issue, the bug is almost a teenager, so I guess not.
