1) Open an HTTPS page in the browser 2) (while Fennec remains in memory) Open another app that has URLs to share between different apps (I used Google Now and searched for "IU singer") 3) Click an external link (I clicked the Wikipedia result) Expected: The page opens and there is no gap in the title Actual: There is a gap in the title Soft dependency on removing the favicon from phones because that would fix this issue (if we use a default favicon for non-secure pages, that is).
Is this a regression, or has this issue always been around?
Possible regression from bug 1107591 ?

(In reply to Mark Finkle (:mfinkle) from comment #2) > Possible regression from bug 1107591 ? Doubt it - I think this is a specific quirk to the animations. (In reply to :Margaret Leibovic from comment #1) > Is this a regression, or has this issue always been around? I'm going to guess this has been always been around, or at least since we last touched the site security status animations.
I can reproduce the issue on all branches: latest Nightly 38 (2015-02-01), latest Aurora 37 (2015-02-01). 36 Beta 4, and 35. So, I have installed older versions and I can reproduce even on Firefox 29. Should I install older versions and check them?

I think that's fine - thank you!

Not actively working on this. A good starting point to this bug would be in ToolbarDisplayLayout (and its xml: toolbar_display_layout).

This is no longer necessary after bug 1018994 removed the favicon from the toolbar. Unaffected on 47 following that bug (assuming it lands & sticks).
