Details

Attempts to download files such as PDFs cause Firefox to respond "Downloads are disabled in guest sessions". Firefox has never been put into guest mode on this tablet and guest mode is certainly not active when this action is attempted (there is no "Exit guest mode" in the firefox menu. For example, go to http://www.sportsvouchers.sa.gov.au/, scroll to the "Fact sheets" section and tap on one of the links to a PDF. This is on a 2013 Nexus-7 running Android 5.0.2. The above problem occurs with firefox 35. Firefox 34 running on the same version of Android worked fine. In all cases Firefox was run as a user on the tablet (not as the "tablet owner"). Firefox has been uninstalled and reinstalled but this did not change this behaviour. Clearing the cache does not change the behaviour.

Are you running in a secondary non-Administrator account?
> In all cases Firefox was run as a user on the tablet (not as the "tablet owner"). Fixed on Firefox Beta on Google Play (bug 1113658)
> Are you running in a secondary non-Administrator account? Yes. As per the report: 'In all cases Firefox was run as a user on the tablet (not as the "tablet owner")'. Sorry for the loose terminology. > Fixed on Firefox Beta on Google Play (bug 1113658) Thanks, I will try to test this out. Having read the description of bug 1113658 this present report does appear to be a duplicate of that and I'll mark it as such. Apologies for the duplicate; despite searching bugzilla using many keyword variations before filing this report bug 1113658 didn't show up. I am surprised.

> Fixed on Firefox Beta on Google Play (bug 1113658) For what it's worth I have just installed Firefox Beta from Google Play on the same nexus-7 and the bug is still present (tested using the URL and process described inthe original report). Have I inadvertently grabbed the wrong beta or something? Or is the presence of the released firefox on the same tablet in some way messing with the beta?
Hi Jonathan! The current Firefox Beta from Google Play is Beta 4. The fix will be only in the next beta, which will be Firefox Beta 6. You will have to wait until an update is available for Firefox Beta to test the fix. Please let us know the result.
Thanks for the information. I'll wait for the update to Beta 6 and report back.
