When transitioning to the message view, the message input area flashes black, and when transitioning away from the message view back to the message list, the message list flashes black. This can be experienced on master Gecko, master Gaia, with two messages stored on the phone. I'm pretty certain this is not caused by something that Gaia is doing (other than by virtue of triggering a platform bug). I expect this issue is related to low-precision tiles or progressive tiled rendering.

Indeed, disabling low-precision painting fixes this issue. I'll take a quick look in case it's anything very obvious, but my knowledge of this code is very out-of-date now.

The patch in bug 1113435 fixes this issue, duping.
