This issue seems to have been caused by the changes in Bug 1123762. Bug 1123762 was backed out, but I can take a look.

Hmm, I am unable to reproduce this manually with the revisions in comment 2. The gip tests also seem to be passing. @Florin - What base image are you testing on? Thanks!

If you can reproduce with nightly builds, it would be interesting to see a crash report and signature, as we do not have symbols for inbound builds but we do have them for nightly builds.
