Details

Overview Description: If you try to use and invalid proxy server the error message given is completely wrong. Steps to Reproduce: 1.) Set up to use an invalid proxy. Go to menu item Edit|Preferences|Advanced|Proxies and select manual proxy configuration. Enter a bogus proxy name such as foo.mcom.com : 3131 . 2.) Try to go to a web site such as http://www.amazon.com Actual Results: You will get an error message saying, "www.amazon.com could not be found. Please check the name and try again." Expected Results: Should have an error message that describes the problem. In 4.7 the message I get is: "Netscape is unable to locate the server foo.mcom.com:3130. Please check the server name and try again". Somewhat better. Build Date & Platform Bug Found: WinNT 2001120504 Additional Builds and Platforms Tested On: same for linux and mac
