recently i've noticed that the parts of the 3pane mailnews window will become unresponsive to mouse clicks. unfortunately, i'm not sure what *steps* are necessary to get into this state. however, i have a set of conditions/symptoms when this occurs: * symptoms: mouse clicks are ignored in the thread pane, folder pane, toplevel menubar, and toolbar. * but, what still works: - mouse clicks are NOT ignored in the message pane [eg, links] - can still bring up context menus for any of the panes - keyboard navigation still works [tabbing, shortcuts] * it's always the 3pane window that's affected --if i happen to have a browser window up, it is not affected. * seems to occur whether or not i have XUL fastload on. * occurs in both mozilla and netscape [commercial], debug and verif builds. * workaround: if i close the reopen the mailnews 3pane window, it becomes responsive to mouse clicks. i'm not sure if this is the same as bug 105970. have noticed it in builds from 12/5 and 12/6, but don't know how long it's really been around [i don't have a continguous set of builds from that last couple of weeks, alas]. has anyone else encountered this of late? could it be a focus issue? could it be limited to linux [where i primarily use mailnews], or does it crop up on other platforms? fwiw, i'm running linux rh7.2, gnome desktop, sawfish wm...

could this be related to bug 113536? lemme see if turning off tooltips makes a difference...

Did turning off tooltips help? I have noticed a few times it seemed like I had to click twice to click a button. I don't know for a fact that I did click twice. This sounds like it could be a dup of 113536.
