Details

From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:0.9.6+) Gecko/20011210 BuildID: 2001121008 The warning dialog advising you to use of the Master Password feature keeps re-appearing the first time a saved password is used in each mozilla session, even though Master Passwords are already enabled. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Set prefs to save passwords using the Software Security Device, and ask for the master password the first time it is needed: a. Edit|Prefs|Privacy & Security|Web Passwords b. Check "Remember passwords..." c. Check "Use encryptions ..." d. Click 'Master Passwords' in the index on the left e. Check "The first time it is needed" for Master PW Timeout f. (Click Change Password and set PW if not set previously) g. Click OK 2. Go to http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/ and Click "Log out of Bugzilla" 3. File->Quit (terminate mozilla) 4. Restart mozilla 'http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/query.cgi?GoAheadAndLogIn=1' The "Please enter the master password..." prompt appears. 5. Enter your master password and click OK (Your E-mail addr and Password should be auto-filled in the form) 6. Click Login Actual Results: A warning dialog pops up with 5 paragraphs of text describing how passwords "will be" saved and suggesting that the Master Password feature be enabled. Expected Results: Warning dialog should not appear, because the Master Password feature is already enabled and this is just a normal use of a saved password.
Unable to reproduce on a win NT build. Is this a linux-only problem?
No, it's not a dup. This bug has to do with the caveat dialog (which we never expect anybody to really read) that pops up the first time you ever use either form manager or password manager. Bug 114895 has to do with the dialog that actually asks you to enter your master password. I can confirm bug 114895 and have a patch for it ready to be checked in as soon as I get a review. This bug I am unable to reproduce.
