Message Filters are not remembered accross sessions (e.g., if xxx, label yyy)
Current commercial trunk builds working okay. New and old filters remembered,
editable and filters fire. Maybe mozilla only. If not, any other details for
reproducing would be appreciated.

BTW. I am trying this with a profile I created yesterday!!! Only thing, I copied
my old mail, bookmarks and AB's over to my new profile (I hate having to do all
that).
I can't reproduce using a new profile on yesterday's commercial trunk.

I'm still getting this on build 2001-12-13.
[so what?]
The filter is *not* lost if you *don't* close the quicklaunch icon! (but nobody
leaves it running overnight!!!)
[/so what?]
Summary: Message Filters are not remembered accross sessions (e.g., if xxx, label yyy) → Message Filters are not remembered accross sessions.

I just tested this again using build 2002-02-02, winNT and a NEW profile.
-> The filtes are still lost when exiting Mozilla! :( :( :( :( ;) :(
I still do not see this. Using feb04 commercial build, win98: I tried following
the exact steps for the failure/Test2 scenario described in bug 120241 -- New
profile, quicklaunch enabled, entered filters, exited Netscape, then exited
quicklaunch icon. Next launch filter(s) still there.

I just tried it again separately with BOTH build 2002-02-02 and milestone 0.9.8
on winNT (not win98!). I created a NEW profile EACH time.
Here are the steps I took:
0. completely exited mozilla (including QuickLaunch <- right-click, exit)
1. uninstall previous install (control panel/add-remove/...)
2. deleted all remaining files from Mozilla directory (e.g., \plugins)
3. deleted all mo*.* files fom C:\winnt\ (e.g., mozver.dat)
4. run installer (mozilla-win32-installer-sea.exe), "load quicklaunch" selected!
5. Immediately after (during) install, created a "TEST" profile.
6. set up a filter (if subj. contains "bla", then label=important)
7. send a test mail to self (is labelled OK upon receipt).
8. exit mozilla (leave QuickLaunch running).
9. Reload Mozilla - Filter is still there. :)
10. Exit Mozilla AND exit QuickLaunch.
11. Reload Mozilla - Filter is gone!!! :(
Could there be a problem with my registry.dat? Is it winNT? Is my winNT registry
corrupted?
Yikes! This makes filters and labels useless! :(

The filters are remembered on my PC at home, which is win98.
At work I have winNT, and the filters are always lost (new install, new profile).
Unfortunately, I need the filters to function at work much more urgently - and I
imagine that more work PC's are winNT (instead of win98).
Summary: Message Filters are not remembered accross sessions. → Message Filters are not remembered (Lost) accross sessions (NT-only?).

WFM. Never had a problem with filters being lost unless the
reason for mozilla and quicklaunch closing was a crash.

I finally got Mozilla to *not loose* my filters on winNT by opening the (almost)
empty rules.dat and pasting *one* filter I had created on my win98 PC. That
seemed to make the filters stick. So then I recreated all my other filters and
exited mozilla (incl. Q-launch). After restarting, the filters were still ther -
*yeah* :-D
Now to see if the filters are still there tomorrow - after I repoot my winNT PC...

I am having a similar problem with MailNews filters filters been lost with the
Beos version: Mozilla/5.0 (BeOS; U; BeOS BePC; en-US; rv:1.2) Gecko/20021128.
Since the beos versions do not have the quicklaunch feature the filters are lost
every time Mozilla is closed then reopened. I recommend for this bug to be
reopened. I also have Windows NT4 and Mozilla1.2.1 installed on it. I will test
it with new filters and see if it is happenning with this version then report
back here.

I just tested on NT4 and in Mozilla1.2.1 this bug seems to be fixed. Filters are
retained if quicklaunch is set or not but this bug is still occuring with the
Beos Mozilla version 1.2.

It is a long time now since I made my last comment and the bug is still present
in the latest Mozilla versions for beos. It is surely time someone to verify or
not with the latest versions of Mozilla for beos or other.
