From Bugzilla Helper:

I have had this problem w/ mozilla since the beginning. I always figured someone
had reported it & it was just too hard to fix, but its getting close now so it
better be fixed. I searched for "text display" "character display" & "text
pagedown" & could not find this bug listed, so apologies if its a duplicate.
Basically, when I'm browsing, I will press pagedown to go down a page then the
down arrow to line up a paragraph so I can read the whole thing. sometimes I
will press the down arrow very soon after pagedown. This results in the bottom
line of text being displayed incorrectly. The text will be somewhat readable,
but it will either be too dark or be missing the lower portion of the whole line
of text.
If you then select this text it will revert to normal.
Reproducible: Sometimes
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open page w/ lots of text
2.Scroll down using pagedown then the down arrow - not simultaneosly, but down
arrow VERY soon after.
3.
Actual Results: Bottom line of text displays incorrectly, either as part of it
too bold/dark or part of the whole line missing. if you highlight/select this
text by left clicking & selecting it, the text is displayed correctly.
Expected Results: Text will display correctly the first time.
This is not specific to any page but to Mozilla. It will happen on any page w/
lots of text, actually any page, but it will happen to me more because on a long
page I will be scrolling down more. I have never seen this happen in MS IE. This
is the one reason why I do not use mozilla full time, because it just irks me
when I have to highlight some text to make it more legible.
I would guess its in gecko rendering engine, but then again prolly not, cos the
page is already loaded, the text will display fine until you pgdn/down arrow at
around the same time.
I can provide screen captures, I will attach one if there is a place to.
Bottom line of text is displayed incorrectly (elongated). This text will
display normally now once you highlight it.
The top few pixels for a whole line of text are missing
"Re: mod this the **** down (Score:5, Funny)"
Another example, this time created by regular scrolling w/ the right scroll bar
by clicking it w/ the mouse & moving down to view the page. This time, this
display bug was not created by scrolling w/ the keyboard (pagedown & down
arrow) as previously mentioned.

I have noticed that this display error happens when I am scrolling using the
scrollbar on the right with the mouse, not just when using the keyboard.
Also, I noticed that where I would usually highlight the text to correct its
display on one line, if that line has ITALIC or BOLD tags, the text will correct
up to the different tag and the rest of the line will still display wrong, until
you highlight that part. Hopefully this will help track down where the bug is.

Bulk moving Mozilla1.2 bugs to future-P2. I will pull from this list when
scheduling post Mozilla1.0 work.
