Details

For a long time, one of the major selling points of other browsers has been
their lack of support for the overused <blink> tag. Although it may have
legitimate uses, I find it extremely annoying, often covering the offending text
with my finger as I read the rest of the page.

There really should be some way to disable parsing of this tag.
You can. See bug 19258

Simply set pref("browser.blink_allowed",false); in your prefs.js

There's a bug to allow a UI for it and I'm duping to that one.
