From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:0.9.6+) Gecko/20011129 BuildID: 2001112913 In some threads even after marking all messages as being read, or actually reading them, the green arrow (new message) icon is still shown. The icon without the green arrow (old, read message) should be displayed. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1.get new messages from the news server, from any newsgroup 2.read messages, mark the uninteresting ones as being read 3.the green arrow icon (new message) is still displayed, and does not turn into the one without the green arrow (read message). 4.the new message icon stays this way permanently, even after marking the whole newsgroup as being read Actual Results: The new message/old message icons do not get updated. If the error occurs, it is permanent. The only solution is to unsubscribe from the news group, resubscribe, and download the headers again. Then marking the whole newsgroup as being read updates all the icons. The problem is gone, untill next batch of new messages comes in. Expected Results: Upon reading a message, or marking it as being read the icon should be updated. This is particularly annoying, since when scrolling through the messages I only look at the icon to check for new ones. I end up clicking on threads that I've seen before, but that have no new messages in them. When checking very active newsgroups (tor.forsale.computers) this becomes a hassle. This error occurs only when sorting the messages by thread, both ascending and descending order. And it is very random. I could not find any kind of pattern as to why it is happening.
