Attached file index1.htm (deleted) —
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:35.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/35.0 SeaMonkey/2.32.1 Build ID: 20150204202218 Steps to reproduce: I know this has been reported and by me several times. This has been going on for YEARS! When I save a file, seamonkey inserts random lines in the saved file. Maybe just one here and there but they add up. I just went through half my index file and I probably removed 500 blank lines, not an exaggeration. Maybe just 2 or 3 together but often 20 or 30 in one place. I cannot correlate it to a specific thing except they seem to like the same place(s) as, like I said, I can go back and find a full page of blank lines. If I didn't check it everyone in a while, I'm sure they would continue to accumulate. I am running the latest Firefox and the latest Seamonkey as they are on auto-update. However, this is not a new problem, I have had it for years through multiple versions of OS, firefox and seamonkey and possibly 4 different computers. No one has ever got back to me on this. I have seen it listed before, not only just by me. Actual results: Multiple blank lines are inserted into my file(s) when they are saved. Problem accumulates. It seems to like the same place to add lines, if I don't check it for a month or more I can have blocks of 30 blank lines (or any number) all through the file. Not specific to any one file but I'm constantly up dating the index file hence it gets the most blank lines. Expected results: It shouldn't be adding blank lines. They don't seem to hurt anything but they hamper editing. Check the last half of attached file. Unfortunately I just cleaned out the first half. Look at the code. If you honestly want to look at this, ask me in a month and I'll send you the file again with all the lines it inserts, or tomorrow. I would be willing to work with anybody on this problem.
Sounds like a DUP of Bug 97278 - Retain original source formatting: Composer adds newlines when switching view modes (extra empty space added)
Yew, probably DUP of "Bug 97278 - Retain original source formatting: Composer adds newlines when switching view modes (extra empty space added)"? @Reporter: It does not help at all to create DUPs of reports for well known bugs. Please feel free to reopen this Bug if you find out that the fix for the problem does not work for your problem.

Sorry about the dup. I did a search but it didn't come up for some reason. It has been literally years since I checked on this problem & thought it may have been lost. First time I've seen this (bugzilla?) layout. Again, I would be happy to assist in resolving this problem but I'm probably limited to sending files that contain the problem, I'm not a programmer in any way. Gem
