On Nightly on Linux, the scaling up text animation on http://monodraw.helftone.com/ looks pretty bad. Turning the OMTA pref off makes it look good again.

Based on the similarities, I think the "menus look pixelated while scaling" behavior being worked on in Bug 1122526 and this bug may be the same overall issue.

This is fixed by the patches in bug 1122526. patch 3 fixes the problem (after patch 1 worsens the problem whose underlying cause is fixed in patch 3, and then patch 2 fixes the regression from patch 1).
