See attachment. Even as someone who's worked on this feature I find this unaccounted layout time horribly confusing. Also why is there multiple sub layout items? We need to make give them a more descriptive label, otherwise there's no point in expending these Layout items.

Just landed first pass at marker folding, markers that are similar are "folded" under a meta marker -- this results in some misleading layout information (like the 3 layout markers, which are spread out, folded under one giant marker). bug 1169439 changes this to only "fold" markers when fully eclipsed by a parent marker (like layout markers within a JS marker). I agree, this current implementation is very misleading.
