This is a regression of bug 1130937 (must be an easy mistake!). When pressing Ctrl+Backspace with Mozc after committing something, failed to remove the committed string.
This will be fixed by bug 1120851 which updates selection cache immediately after composition end. The selection isn't notified during composition, so, the cached selection was too old after compositionend.
