We have bugs for that, around compact/message keys, and even though it should occur less often now, according to some expert analysis it can still occur even after those fixes (says WADA iirc).

I have the same problem, which is very disturbing... I "Reply All" to a message with two inline images and compose my reply. At this point, everything is fine, the two inline images are correctly displayed in the bottom section. But after clicking Send, I go to my sent mail, and those two images got replaced with... other images, probably received from other customers in completely unrelated emails. The inline images I added myself have not been replaced though. Note that in the past I had a slightly different issue (but not as dangerous), in which I couldn't send the reply at all unless I deleted the inline image of the message I replied to. Thunderbird version: 38.2 OS: Win7

To force phenomenon of these three bugs, "Compact(auto or manual) + Intentional Repair Folder" or ""Compact(auto or manual) + .msf corruption after Compact + Internal Rebuild-Index due to Outdated msf condition" is needed while the mails is being composed. To bug opener: Is your problem same as the three bugs? Or different problem? Do you see your problem in Tb 38? Note: Latest Thunderbird 38.2.0 has severe problem of Bug 1196662. Use Thunderbird 38.1.0, if you doesn't want to experience problem of that bug frequently.

OK, my issue is the same as Bug 766495 I think. Looking at the drafts, the first saved draft is OK, but the second one has the wrong inline images.

Setting dependency to Bug 766495 for ease of analysis/tracking/serch.

To Samuel Langlois, if your problem is similar phenomenon to bug 766495, bug 799450, bug 817245 in Thunerbird 38, please open separate bug for your case in Tb 38, instead of adding comment to bug 1201782, because Bug 1201782 is not for analysis of or dicussion on each case. Bug 1201782 is for finding solutions for already well known/clearly defined issues.
